These Bible Verses about grief can bring you comfort in the midst of a very challenging time.

Recently my husband and I found ourselves grieving the loss of our first child.

We’d been trying to get pregnant for about a year and finally in February, we got a positive pregnancy test.

Unfortunately, we had a spontaneous 2nd Trimester miscarriage and it was devastating.

We went from feeling extremely hopeful and excited to being overwhelmed by grief and sorrow.

Some of these Bible Verses about grief and loss helped us get through the toughest moments.

I pray that whatever season of life you’re in, these Bible Verses about grief will also bring your comfort.

Bible Verses About Grief

Grief is a recurring theme in the Bible. Sometimes we feel alone in our suffering, but we have a High Priest and Big Brother who understands what we’re going through.

Jesus’ cousin John was executed.

Lazarus, one of his friends, passed away from sickness. When Jesus went to raise him from the dead, he saw Mary and Martha mourning.

He understands human suffering and pain. And He also promises to be there to help us through it.
