I was completely unaware of the real reason we have low self-esteem.

The enemy of our soul attacks our identity and tries to make us feel worthless.

And that’s exactly what’s happening to you.

What the Bible Says about Insecurity

Believe it or not, the word of God has so much to say about how we can overcome insecurity.

As a matter of fact, the Word of God IS THE WAY we overcome insecurity.

Self-esteem and self-worth are definitely taboo topics in the Church.

So if you’ve felt judged or alone in your constant battle against low self-esteem, let me encourage you…

Sis, the author of your life, wants you to have a healthy and Biblical perspective of yourself.

And the Word of God shows you exactly how to do that.

The Word of God shows you what God says about you.

When we make what He says, the foundation of our self-image – our confidence and self-worth will soar.

Let’s be clear…

We’re not talking about a prideful or arrogant confidence.

We’re talking about the confidence that comes from knowing who your Heavenly Father is and who you are as a child of God.

As you look at these scriptures from the Holy Bible, I encourage you to use them to help you pray over your self-image, and to also turn them into affirmations that you speak over your life.

How to apply this Bible Verse:

Think about this…

You have some of the characteristics and traits of your birth parents.

Maybe in the way you look, or the way you behave…

There are things about you that are just like them.

Well, God is a Spirit, and so are we.

(We are spirits, we live in a body, and we have a soul, which is our mind, will, and emotions)

Human beings are the only creatures that were made in the image and likeness of God.

God is perfect, good, kind.

He is love, the architect of all of creation, and He is our loving Father.

If you want your self-image to change, one of the best things you can do is spend time getting to know your Father.

How to apply this Bible Verse:

This is such an encouraging verse.

Our mistakes, flaws (real or imaginary), and shortcomings can make us feel worthless and unlovable.

How to apply this Bible Verse:

My girl, this is who you are!

You are a citizen of the Kingdom of God.

Your Father is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Whenever those negative thoughts of insecurity come, repeat this verse aloud over and over again.

And the Word of God is truth.

How to apply this Bible Verse:

I mentioned this earlier, but low self-esteem is one of the weapons of the enemy of our souls.

He attacks your identity, tries to distort your self-image, and destroy your sense of worth.

He does all of that in the hopes of keeping you from accomplishing the good works God has planned for you.

21. God over everything

🤲🏽 1 Timothy 6:17 (ESV) – As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

How to apply this Bible Verse:

Our world’s culture is the complete opposite of Kingdom Culture.

The world teaches you that you’re more valuable if you have money, status, and the approval of people.

But as Christians, we don’t put our hope in those things.

We put our hope in God alone.

Pray and ask God to help you to trust in Him alone.

And if there’s anything you need, this verse lets us know that God richly provides us with everything to enjoy – so pray about your needs.

22. You are free

🤲🏽 Romans 8:2 (ESV) – For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

How to apply this Bible Verse:

This verse right here is everything!

It’s so easy for us to allow our sins, mistakes, and failures to define us.

But this verse reminds us that God doesn’t value us based on how “good” we are or how well we perform.

We have been freed from trying to earn our righteousness.

Jesus is perfect and He has made you His righteousness.

Because of Jesus you have been made right with God.

Pray and ask God for greater revelation on what it means to be the righteousness of Christ.

23. Let your beauty radiate from the inside out

🤲🏽 1 Peter 3:3-4 (NLT) – Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.

How to apply this Bible Verse:

It’s easy to place so much effort on making sure we look good on the outside.

We workout to stay in shape, make sure our hair and nails get done, and our makeup is poppin’.

But this is one of my favorite bible verses about insecurity because it reminds us that real beauty is more than skin deep.

Real beauty, biblical beauty, has everything to do with our character.

This doesn’t mean that you can’t care about how you look physically.

But rather that your primary focus is on the beauty that comes from within.

Pray and ask God to help you develop a beautiful character.
